Patients with burns are managed here by hospitalization and surgery. Those with lesser burns are treated on outpatient basis. Those who suffer from contractures are treated by surgery. Those patients who have post burn scars are treated either by laser or by surgery. Treatment of burns is a long-standing process and it takes a lot of time. Treatment of burns depends upon the area and the depth of burns.
Burn patients may require following surgeries:
- Tangential excision and debridement
- Skin graft and skin flaps
- Release of contractures of various joins followed by skin graft and flaps.
- Escharotomy and Fasciotomy
